Bass Chumps Tournament Rules:
1. Participants and Eligibility:
* Bass Chumps Tournaments are open to club members ONLY with the following exception: a non-member may fish ONE tournament as a guest in the boat with a member (see Entry Fee and Payout for guest entry fee). Guests shall not receive AOY Points. See Bass Chumps Bass Club Bylaws for details on becoming a member.
*Anyone who has provided a guide service for pay on the body of water being fished during the 12 months prior to the tournament will not be eligible to compete as a guest.
2. Entry Fee and Payout:
* Entry fees for tournaments shall be $25.00 per member, $35.00 per guest which includes $5.00 Big Bass Pot.
*Payout as follows:
1-5 participants pays - 1 place – 1st 100% of pot
6-11 participants pays 2 places – 1st 65%, 2nd 35% of pot
12+ participants pays 3 places – 1st 50%, 2nd 30%, 3rd 20% of pot
* Overall Big Bass takes the entire Big Bass pot - Big bass pot will carry over if the big bass does not weigh at least 5.00 lbs.
* All ties will be resolved by splitting that place and the next place’s money.
3. Registration Times/Tournament Hours:
* Registration: Check for exact times and location posted prior to the tournament on www.basschumps.com
* Participants must register in person at the designated registration area. Cash only, no checks. If you are late, please call the tournament director in advance to make other arrangements.
* Tournament hours will be posted prior to the tournament on www.basschumps.com and will be provided by request by the tournament director the launch.
* All boats are subject to a live well check and will launch simultaneously unless otherwise directed by the Tournament Director
* Boats must be back in view of the Tournament Director by weigh-in time posted. You will receive a 1 pound per minute deduction if late to weigh-in.
4. Permitted Fishing Methods:
* Only artificial baits may be used. No live or cut bait is permitted (pork baits are permitted).
* All bass must be caught alive in a legal and sporting manner. No snagging.
* Each competitor may only use 1 rod at a time. No more than 1 line in the water at a time per angler.
* Trolling with the combustion motor is not permitted.
5. Weigh In/Dead Fish Penalty:
* A limit of five bass (largemouth, smallmouth, Guadalupe/spotted) may be weighed in by each individual.
* All fish must be within the legal length limits for the body of water as set forth in the TPWD Outdoor Annual.
* A ONE pound penalty shall be deducted for each dead bass presented for weigh-in. Any individual that weighs in a dead fish for the big bass award will receive a ONE pound penalty from the total big bass weight. Culling of dead bass is not permitted.
* Weigh in will be on a first come first serve basis at the launch site (unless otherwise indicated by the tournament director)
6. Sportsmanship/Safety:
* All contestants are required to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy, safety and conservation.
* Safe boating must be observed at all times.
* In case of inclement weather it will be the contestant’s decision to stay and fish or seek shelter/leave. Once tournament fees are paid and the tournament has begun there will be no refunds for any reason.
7. Angler of the Year Points System:
*For one day tournaments, 1st place shall receive 60 points towards angler of the year and points shall decrease in increments of 3 for each subsequent place. (1st - 60, 2nd - 57, 3rd - 54, 4th - 51, 5th - 48,…, 10th - 33, etc.)
*For two day tournaments, 1st place shall receive 90 points towards angler of the year and points shall decrease in increments of 5 for each subsequent place (1st - 90, 2nd - 85, 3rd - 80, 4th - 75, 5th - 70,…, 10th - 45, etc.)
*Participants who zero shall receive 10 points for participating-no angler who participates shall receive less than 10 points.

Decisions of the Tournament Director are final. Interpretation of these rules will be left exclusively to the Tournament Director. If a conflict cannot be solved by the Tournament Director, it will be resolved by the Bass Chumps Board of Directors.
All participants expressly assume all risk(s) associated with each tournament event and hereby release, indemnify and hold harmless Bass Chumps, the host, all sponsors, and tournament officials from all claims or injury and/or damage arising out of, or related to and/or incurred in connection with any Bass Chumps sponsored event(s).
