Schoolies on Bastrop right now are like women...can't figure em out??? One day there slammin, next day nada... Started at 6:00pm midlake hump looking around and nothing for about 20 minutes. Went and hit grass lines adjacent to deep water and started catching fish. Slooooooow wacky worm...almost dead-sticking the thing...ended with 26 fish total, but it was brutal for me to fish that slow. AND...I tried 4 different colors of the Kinami's but only one color worked...and I went through 3 packs of em. So I'm sold on those baits now. Only problem with those baits is that they are so soft, they are only good for 1 fish per bait and...and had a few fly off on the cast. Either way , they sure were worth it... Z

I put about half a dozen of those Lake Fork ring weights in your glove box. It changes the action of the bait (faster fall) but they won't tear as easy. I have also used a large slip ring which does not change the action of the bait, but does keep them from tearing. I don't know the size of the slip ring, but it is the largest one I could find at Academy.

I have come to find out that there is a reason that certain baits tear so easily..........It is the material they are made out of that gives them the movement like nothing else.
At a tourney on Rayburn dowdy and I went to Anns Tackle Shop and bought a bag of every brand senko there was and went to the swimming pool at our hotel.
NOTHING and I mean NOTHING moves like the one and only senko/flash
So I will take that unmatchable movement/1 bait 1 fish over crappy movement 1 bait forever anyday

bought some off brand senkos before our first LA tournament, Big Bite is the company i believe...threw em in the pool at the appartment and the watermelon color didn't even sink! Turned right around and went back to academy for a return. There's nothing about the real senko.
