The first tournament of the year is next Saturday. This will also be the first tournament that we will have the new format that includes a picture fish on slot lakes. One fish out of the 5 weighed in can be in the slot. The slot on Fayette is 14 to 24 inches. If you catch a fish between 14 and 24 inches you will need to lay the fish on the measureing board with the belly toward you and the tail pinched. If there are any questions you can call me or get with me in the morning before we takeoff. The other fish will be weighed in according to the state laws for the body of water we are fishing. If you do not catch a fish in the slot you can still weigh in 5 fish according to the state laws for the body of water we are fishing at that time.
The weights will go as follows.
14 to 15 inch fish will weigh 1.5 pounds
15 to 16. 1.75 lbs..
16 to 17. 2.25 lbs
17 to 18. 2.75 lbs
18 to 19. 3.50 lbs
19 to 20. 4.00 lbs
20 to 21. 4.75 lbs
21 to 22. 5.50 lbs
22 to 23. 6.50 lbs
23 to 24. 7.50 lbs
So in a perfect world you can have a fish over the slot. A fish in the slot that you will have picture off and 3 fish under the slot to fill out your 5 fish limit.
But I think most of us will have a picture of a fish in the slot and 4 fish under the slot. To make up our limits.
It doesn't matter what we have its going to be a great time and I'm looking forward to getting back on the water.
We will be going out of Oak Thicket park. We will be leaving the ramp at safe daylight witch should be around 7:15. It may be a few minutes earlier depending on the weather. I will make that decision that morning.
