1 gallon apple juice 4 cinnamon sticks 6 whole cloves 1 cup brown sugar 1 1/2 cup white sugar 1 bottle of Everclear (750 ml) or corn liquor (1 quart) DIRECTIONS 1. Combine apple juice, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and both sugars in a large pot. 2. Heat over medium heat and bring almost to a boil. Reduce to a simmer, and cover. 3. Simmer for about one hour. Cool completely. 4. Strain out cloves and cinnamon sticks and stir in alcohol. 5. Pour into sanitized mason jars with a cinnamon stick. 6. Store in refrigerator.

Yes, I've tried this recipe. It's good, but not as good as the stuff you had.
