Brandy and I spent last weekend on Falcon for our CAST tournament. The high winds made the lake a little tricky to fish and really tricky to run a boat! On Saturday we pre fished from 9:00-5:00. We weren't able to make it to the lower end of the lake where I prefer to fish, so we settled in close to the county ramp and had a fairly horrible day. With only one bite all day I knew exactly where I would not be fishing the tournament on Sunday! That evening we met up with Zdawg and krippled kritter pro Mike Harman. These guys gave us some good advice on what techniques they were using and Zdawg even hooked me up with the right bait. ( www.krippledkritters.com ) On tournament day we were allowed to trailer so we launched off the point at the state park. This allowed us to fish the lower end and man did it pay off. In the first half hour I lost one at the boat between 6-7 pounds. After seeing that fish I knew it was going to be a better day. We ended up boating 27.88 lbs for our best 5 and took home 2nd place. By far our best day on the water ever! I'd also like to thank CAST for all the used plastic they contributed to krippled kritters this weekend.
