Had to go deal with some paperwork for our house today so I drug the boat along. I hadn't been on Choke since last September so I didn't know what to expect... Well here is what I learned, judging by my WPT's the water level is roughly 6 to 8ft lower than when the bass chumps where here last year. The grass that I know a few of us were fishing is now non existent. And please idle everywhere you go that is off the main lake. I learned that lesson first hand. My trails from last year go right over sand bars and trees! On a brighter note the water temp is 75-76 and the fish seem to be grouped. We fished from 1pm-6pm. Spent the first hour and a half shallow (8ft and less) brandy caught one keeper on a spinnerbait and that was it. Decided to get on the motor and look at the graph for a hour or so and find us some fish. Found some really good rock in 16-18 ft with a school of fish on it. I caught a 5 pounder off of it right away then Brandy took over and caught three more! By then it was time to go! Hopefully the fishing heats up before everyone comes down here in a couple of months!!
