Hello members of the Bass Chumps,
Each year the Catch A Special Thrill (C.A.S.T.) foundation holds a very special event at Lake Bastrop North Shore. This year's event is scheduled for May 4, 2013. We invite 40 special needs children and their parent(s) to come enjoy a morning of fishing on the lake at no cost to them. In addition, we recruit 40 boat captains to escort these children out on the lake. As a side note; the C.A.S.T. organization carries liability insurance to cover this event so there is no risk to you. This is made possible by people like you who are willing to volunteer their time take a child out to enjoy the sport of fishing in your boat. It is a wonderful experience and one you won't forget.
The event is being held at North Shore - Lake Bastrop. Boat Captain sign-in is 7:00am - 7:45am and breakfast will be available. Photos for photo plaques will be taken at the docks prior to going out in the boats. Children will be ready to hit the lake at approximately 9am. All boats should be back into shore by 11:00 for a group picture. Lunch will be provided Chili's and Boat Captains will present photo plaques to their assigned child.
If you have never had the opportunity to volunteer for this event I would encourage you to do so. It is a life-changing experience. Please visit www.castforkids.org for more information about C.A.S.T. I have also attached our flyer calling for Boat Captains which gives important information about the day of the event as well as what C.A.S.T. is all about.
To register as a Boat Captain or if you just have questions, please call Kim Parish at 512-899-4165 or 512-550-4393, email me at kparish@usbr.gov.
Thank you for taking the time to make a child's life special.
I look forward to hearing from you.
