I fished the TBF state qualifier tournament up on lake Bob Sandlin last weekend. They (TBF) ran a great tournament....motel was brand new and rates were cheap, the pairing dinner food was good, launches and weigh-ins all ran smoothly....only negative was that they forgot to schedule mild winds.....it made our recent winds on Choke seem good. I couldn't find legal fish anywhere as they were out on windswept points in high waves.

I barely escaped posting a zero as most of my fish were unders. I was a boater and both of my non-boaters, I tried to help and they were able to finish in the middle of the pack, but neither of them were able to make the state team.
We all were able to fish only an hour or so after daylight and then the winds chased us all to the back of the coves which sadly held cold snow melt muddy waters and only undersized bass. Key to winning was having a little local lake knowledge and get to a sweet honey-hole lake point holding deeper prespawn females before the winds came up each morning.
