OK boys, it's getting tough on the lake with the hot weather so I'm gonna try to learn a new technique.......Sthingys..... Equipment I'll use: 7ft med/heavy rod, 10-20lb flouro, 3/4-1oz spoons in Nickel(on overcast days) and Gold(in clear days) Technique I'm trying: Long casts. Sit on humps and cast to 25-35ft of water. Once he spoons hits bottom I'll "pop" the spoons up 3-4 ft all the way up the hump. Reason: Tip from Jason Quinn. Fish are suspended in deep water cause it's cooler and school on bait as they swim by. Throw the spoons to trigger the feeding and you can bring the school to the hump. What do yall think??? If anyone has any other tips, please let me/us know. I'm using my winnings from last night to go shopping today ;D Z

AH no wonder.....I was confused as nuts what sthingy was.
Hey I have already caught a few on a s p o o n on conroe
But my spoon cannot be found in stores just yet......Im not saying that it is the only one that catches fish but once I saw it in the testing tank I fell in love. This spoon is more worked like a Texas rig type retrieve believe it or not. Each slab has a different action and fall....Play with em in a pool and figure out what each twitch/jerk/pull with your rod does to it.........Remember the pool at lbj.....go to a hotel and tear it up

This summer wind pattern is getting serious when you have to go to the sthingy. I've actually had success on it on Fayette in the summer years ago when i had the prowler over some deep submerged trees in the middle of the lake. Don't bring that sthingy to somerville though..........you'll catch all the whites in the lake....if they can see it.

I was wondering what the heck an sthingy is.... changed the censored word setting last time it wouldn't let bshiff spell peacock...for whatever reason it reverted back and thought zdawg was trying to say poon. It shouldn't censor now.

I haven't specifically used jigging spoons to target bass on humps. I've used jigging spoons and slab spoons on humps on Somerville to catch whites, have caught a couple LMB & crappie doing it.
