Just wondering if and when you guys do this -- I have 30lb powerpro on one of my rods, but the diameter is only 8lb test (however it still sticks out pretty good to my eyes). I never thought I would need a leader for fishing soft plastics in timber, but I'm beginning to wonder. I'm specifically thinking of my trip to Fayette and getting outfished in the flooded timber on that lake, the other guy had some heavy flouro on i think (seaguar 25 lb maybe) -- still thinking it was just me, but perhaps the braid going right to the tx rig didn't help either?? Let me know what you guys use on the power plant lakes in your area, especially if any of you have a flipping setup like mine with some kind of braid on it. Any setup info would be great, such as leader material, length, situations where it would be needed, etc. Thanks!!

I often do this especially when I am fishing clear water lakes. I have several reels spooled up with braid, I like the feel of braided line, and I don't want to respool. So, I will use an albright knot to tie on a flourocarbon leader. I have also used this with my spinning reels to avoid line twist.
