We are new to Texas and I would like to fish tournaments with my 18 year old son. Your club looked like a good start for us to meet other fisherman in Texas. We live in Harwood Texas near Luling, TX. We are very interested in joining your club. Hope someone can help us out.
Thank you Bill and Cody Brown

Welcome to the forum Bill! We are interested in new members who fit in with the overall philosophy of the club: - In short, no jerks.
- We definitely enjoy competition, but we're not looking for cut-throat types to join.
- We like beating each other, but (most) will share techniques and information at the weigh-in.
- We are looking for guys who want to win friends and have fun just as bad as they want to win tournaments.
- We all want to catch the biggest sack, but we want everybody to catch a limit.
- We want members who are serious about fishing, but are not so tense that they can't laugh and have a good time.
- We want to advance the club and gain new members but not at the cost of changing its"identity" and underminding its philosphy.
If this sounds like what your looking for, joining our club is really simple. Check out the bylaws posted on our website at www.basschumps.com/3.html You will find information about dues and such there. Our first tournament is on Lake Bastrop on January 17th. There will be details about which ramp we will launch from posted here and on the website later this week. We will have quick meeting prior to the launch of the tournament and take care of any other business after the weigh-in. Other than that we don't have meetings. I hope that you are not the type that will be offended if a some of guys throw back a couple of beers at the weigh-in. As you can see, some of us log on here and have discussions about topics related to the club, fishing in general, and other miscellanous topics. Please feel free to join in on the discussion.

Thanks for getting back to me. Your club sounds like my kind of guys I would like to fish with. Quit fishing tournaments back in the 80's because of fisherman that did no how to have fun and respect for the sport. But never quit bass fishing. I've fished with some of the best in the sport and the worse. I have finally talked my son into getting out of Bull Riding and fishing tournaments with me. We just don't know anyone out here to hook up with. I have a 2000 Champion and have owned Bass Boats since 1979. We would like to join and have some good fun.

The first tournament will be on January 17th. I'm working on the flyer now. We'll launch from the Bastrop North Shore Boat ramp at safe light and the weigh in will be at 3:00 pm. Try to be there a little early to meet everyone, etc. We'll see you then.

We look forward to meeting all of you. Can we sign up at the lake or do we need to get it done before by mail?
